Nestled in the heart of Texas, Wanderlust Wine Co. is thriving thanks to the innovative ideas of its owner, Sammy Lam.

Sammy was inspired by his travels and education abroad to make a more modern, eco-conscious delivery system from winery to wine glass.

We’ve all heard farm-to-table, but have you heard ‘barrel-to-glass’? If you live in and around the Austin, TX area, you might have, as their community has grown to over 3,000 in just its first year.

Their menu includes fifty-six wines on tap in more than six flavors, including merlot, tempranillo, chardonnay, riesling, prosecco, sake, and more. If you’d like some food to pair excellently with your wine, Wanderlust Wine is collaborating with The Heel of the Boot, serving up authentic southern Italian food from Puglia, Italy on their pet-friendly patio.

They offer delivery and pickup for their wines and food from The Heel of the Boot if you can’t come out to socialize or just don’t want to.

You may be wondering, why try wine on tap?

  1. It’s guaranteed fresh, with no external influences on the wine.
  2. No corks, no bottles, no delays.
  3. Kegs offer a 96% reduction in carbon footprint, as opposed to bottled wine.
  4. One keg typically holds twenty-six bottles of wine.
  5. Using kegs saves 2,340lbs of waste from landfills per year.

These may be the biggest reasons people flock to Wanderlust Wine Co., but Sammy Lam and his cultivated community keep them returning for more.

A quick look at their Facebook and Instagram pages will show patrons participating in Trivia Tuesdays and enjoying wine with a laugh on Thursday’s Comedy Night. You can attend painting classes in collaboration with local artists as well, or attend an outdoor socially distanced yoga class on Saturdays.

Wanderlust Wine Co. has grown exponentially since its inception in 2020, and owner Sammy Lam has more plans for its future, including canned wine, Can-Your-Own-Wine, and Growlers of Wine.
